The slope of the line is the difference of the y values divided by the difference of the x values: (-4-(-1))/(0-1)=-3/(-1)=3. Equation of a line in general terms is y=ax+b, where a is the slope and b the y intercept. The y intercept is when x=0, and one of the points (0,-4) has x=0, so b=-4. The line is y=3x-4.
