Don't be stumped any longer. To add fractions you need to find a common denominator, the lowest if possible. You're lucky with this question because one denominator divides into the other: 8 goes into 32. How many times? 4. So multiply the numerator by 4 to give you 12. 3/8 is the same as 12/32. Now you can add it to the other fraction because  both have the same denominator. 15 thirty-secondths plus 12 thirty-secondths is 27 thirty-secondths just like 15 apples plus 12 apples is 27 apples. So the answer is 27/32.
