None of the four possible values for x multiplied by 42 produces a perfect square although two come close, C and D. 20*42=840 and 29^2=841. 55*42=2310 and 48^2=2304. Square root of 840 can be expressed as 2sqrt(210), which is a form of simplification, I suppose.
