the can consists of a rectangle(lateral side) and a circle(the bottom), both made of aluminum, and one circle on top, made of plastic.

Area of rectangle: Circumference of the circle x hight of the can = piD x H= 3.14 x 13 x 24=979.68 cm^2

Area of the bottom=piR^2= 3.14 x 6.5^2= 132.665 cm^2 (the same area for the plastic top)

The total amount of aluminum : 970.68 + 132.665=1103.35 cm^2
