If the sum of two consecutive integers is 24, what is an equation that can solve for the varible n?

I'm having a ton of problems answering this question for some reason. Please, if you could, simplify any answer. just easier for me to comprehend. Thank you!smiley

N + (N + 1) = 24

2N = 24 - 1

N = 23/2 = 11

This does not work is the question two odd consecutive integers then it is 11,13.
