To find the z score subtract the mean from each datum and divide by the standard deviation:

-3/3, 3/3, -1/3, 7/3, 9/3 that is: -1, 1, -1/3, 7/3, 3 or -1, 1, -0.33, 2.33, 3.

Let’s say two students, amy is in algebra class and betsy is in statistics class. Amy is happy with her score of 70 percent in algebra while betsy is discouraged with her 80 percent in statistics. Why would amy with a lower score be more encouraged with a lower score than Betsy with a higher score?
