what is the INVERSE of h(x) = -3x+6.

h = -3x + 6

-3x = h - 6

x = 2 - h/3

Now the above is just a function giving the relationship between two variables. The one on the right, h, is the independent variable (you can give it whatever value you want). Call it iv.

The one on the left, x, is the dependent variable (its value depends on the value you give to the independent variable). Call this one dv. Then ...

dv = 2 - iv/3

or, y = 2 - x/3

This is the curve of a straight line, of slope (-1/3), which cuts the y-axis at y = 2 and cuts the x-axis at x = 6.
