what is the function of the number 1 2, 2 5, 3 10 , 4 17
how does 1 become 2
how does become 5
how does 3 become 10
hoedoes 4 become 17
they have to have the same rule

In each of the pairs, there is a base and a result. Except for the first
pair, you add the previous base to the previous result, and add that
total to the next number in the sequence of 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

Add 1 to 1 to get 2
Add that 1 and 2, giving 3, and add to 2 to get 5
Add that 2 and 5, giving 7, and add to 3 to get 10
Add that 3 and 10, giving 13, and add to 4 to get 17
