slope intercept form is y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y- intercept, in this problem we have to solve for the slope.

3 = m (4) -2 first we add 2 to both sides

5 = 4m  now divide 4 on both sides

m = 5/4 this is the slope now we write it.

y= 5/4x - 2
