The slope intercept form of a line can be used to sketch the graph of the line like this:

Draw a point at the intercept on the y axis.

Starting from the y intercept, draw another point somewhere in the direction of the slope.

   Example:  If the slope is 3/4, draw another point 3 up and 4 over from the y intercept.

Draw a line connecting the two points and extending beyond in both directions.
