-3x / -3 = 18 / -3
x = 18 / -3
x = -6

-3x =18

[ -3x = 18 ]  / -3  divide both sides of the equation by -3

x = - 6

- 3x = 18

       3x = - 18

         x =  - 18/3

         x = - 6
