first distrubute the negative into the second expression. Remember,

- times - equals +

+ times - equals -

+ times + equals +

 

multiply everything inside the parenthesis by the -

-3-9i

now you just have to combine all the like terms -2+4i-3-9i

-2-3=-5

+4i-9i=-5i

your final answer is  -5-5i
