If the centre of the x is at (6,6), then assume that the end of the bottom left hand leg is at (0,0). The end of the top left hand arm is at (0,12); top right hand arm is at (12,12); the end of the bottom right hand leg is at (12,0). The enlargement puts the centre at (18,18) because the coordinates are tripled. The four extreme points are (0,0), (0,36), (36,36) and (36,0). This is the enlargement of a perfectly symmetrical x.

If the centre has to remain at (6,6), then the x and y coords of the enlargement need to be reduced by 12: (-12,-12), (-12,24), (24,24) and (24,-12).
