7x2-9x-6=0 can be solved using the quadratic formula:

x=(-(-9)±√((-9)2-4(7)(6)))/14,

x=(9±√(81+168))/14,

x=(9±√249)/14=(9±15.7797)/14=1.7700 or -0.4843 approx.
