The x-intercept is when f(x) or y equals 0.

0 = (x+5)(x+1)(x-7)

x = -5, -1, 7

There are three x-intercepts because any of these three numbers (-5, -1, 7) will make f(x) = 0.

Answer:  x = -5, -1, 7
