pretend for a sec that the > is a =

3x (7)= 62

divide 7 on both sides

3x=62/7

divide 3 on both sides

x= (62/7)/3 or this is the same as (62/7)x (1/3) = 62/21

x=62/21

now replace the = with a >

x > 62/21 or 2.95 ( rounded answer)
