The usual form of a polynomial of n degree is:

p(x)=anxn+an-1xn-1+...+a2x2+a1x+a0, where an, etc., are real coefficients (positive, negative or zero) and the powers of the variable (represented here by x) are presented in descending order. The polynomial could be written with the powers in ascending order (starting with the constant a0).
