These numbers are 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc.

The sum of the first n natural odd numbers is n2. For example, when n=5, the sum is 25 (1+3+5+7+9=25).

The average (mean) of these is n2/n=n. In the example, the average is 25/5=5.
