Measure the width (side to side, through the middle) of the pizza, call that number d.

1/2 of that.  d/2

square of that.  (d^2)/4

multiply by Pi.  (d^2)Pi/4

divide by 12.  (d^2)Pi/48

Answer:  Measure d, square it, multiply it by Pi, then divide by 48.
