16 = (3v-2) / 8 + (2v+5) / 2

Let's get rid of those fraction bars by multiplying both sides by 8

128 = (3v-2) + 4(2v+5)

Expand and simplify

128 = 3v - 2 + 8v + 20

128 = 11v + 18

110 = 11v

v = 10
