This is a quadratic expression which can be factorised into two complex factors.

2x2+xy+5y2. Using the quadratic formula:

x=(-y±√(y2-40y2))/4=(-y±y√-39)/4=y(-1±i√39)/4.

So x=-¼y+¼iy√39 or x=-¼y-¼iy√39 where i=√-1 (imaginary).

(2x+½y-½iy√39)(x+¼y+¼iy√39)=2x2+xy+y2/8+39y2/8=2x2+xy+5y2.
