Find n and t when 3n-2t=16

You can't find a single solution (n = this number, t = that number) because you have 1 equation with 2 variables.

You can write 3n - 2t = 16 in terms of n: n = (2/3)t + 16/3

You can write 3n - 2t = 16 in terms of t:  t = (3/2)n - 8

But you can't get something like just n = 0, t = -8 because you can pick any value for n and then find a corresponding value for t.  You can also pick any value for t and find a corresponding value for n.
