arccos(⅔) can be illustrated by a right triangle with hypotenuse length 3 and length 2 of the adjacent side to the given angle. The third side of the triangle has length √(32-22)=√(9-4)=√5. Therefore the tangent of the same angle is √5/2 and we have tan(arctan(√5/2))=√5/2.
