The perimeter is 2 times the length plus 2 times the width:    P = 2L + 2W

We are given the length, 14m; 2 times that is 28m

Plug in the values we know:     104m = 28m + 2W

Subtract 28m from boths sides of the equation:     104m - 28m = 2W = 76m

Divide both sides of the equation by 2:      W = 76m / 2 = 38m

The width is 38m and the length is stated to be 14m

Verify:    14m + 14m + 38m + 38m = 104m
