A square, rhombus and rectangle are special cases of a parallelogram.

A kite and trapezoid are examples of quadrilaterals which are not parallelograms.

A kite is made by joining the equal-sized bases of two different isosceles triangles. The shape of the perimeter is a kite.

A trapezoid or trapezium has only one pair of parallel sides.
