The circumference of the circle (x-4)²+(y+3)²=36 is 6 units from the point (4,-3).

The y-axis is the line x=0, so it intersects the circle at (y+3)²=36-16=20. y+3=±√20=±2√5. So y=-3±2√5. That is, y=-3+2√5=1.47 and -3-2√5=-7.47 approx.
