2√42x²+3=256.

Divide through by 2:

√42x²+3=128.

Take logs to base 2 of both sides:

(2x2+3)log2(√4)=7, log2(√4)=log2(2)=1,

2x2+3=7, 2x2=4, x2=2, x=±√2.
