(x2)2+x2-5=0,

(x2)2+x2=5,

(x2)2+x2+¼=5¼=21/4,

(x2+½)2=21/4,

x2+½=±√21/2,

x2=-½±√21/2.

√21=4.5826 approx, so x2=-½±2.2913=1.7913 or -2.7913.

The only real solution for x is √1.7913=±1.3384 approx.

ANSWER x=1.3384 or -1.3384
