2⅓=7/3; 1½=3/2; 2¼=9/4.

(7/3)/(3/2)=(7/3)(2/3)=14/9; x/(9/4)=4x/9.

14/9=4x/9 so 14=4x, 7=2x, x=7/2=3½.
