-.7x + 1.15 = .4x + 3.85
1.15 = 1.1x + 3.85 {added .7x to both sides}
-2.7 = 1.1x {subtracted 3.85 from both sides}
x ≈ -2.45 {divided both sides by 1.1 and rounded to nearest hundredth}
