The conversion factor 1.034 appears to be the density (gram/mL) of the solution and x appears to be the volume. 0.111 appears to be a fixed correction factor, perhaps related to the solution container. Therefore multiplying 1.034 by the volume we arrive at the weight (mass) of the solution.
