This can be written 12x^2-24x+9=0 (standard quadratic form).

Factorise:

3(4x^2-8x+3)=0

3(2x-3)(2x-1)=0

So 2x-3=0, 2x=3, x=3/2; or 2x-1=0, 2x=1, x=1/2.
