x^2 -2x -25y^2 -200y -424=0

(x-1)^2=x^2 -2x +1

(5y+20)^2=25y^2+200y+400

so, (x-1)^2 -(5y+20)^2=(x^2 -2x)  -(5y+20)^2 +(1-400)

top line is (x-1)^2 -(5y+20)^2  -25

so (x-1)^2 -(5y+20)^2 =25=5^2
