Use the order of operations to simplify. Maybe I did not type it right. It should be one sixth plus (one sixth)(one sixth) minus five and two sixteenths.

1/6 + (1/6)^2 - 5/216
= 1/6 + 1/36 - 5/216
= 36/216 + 6/216 - 5/216
= (36 + 6 - 5)/216
= 37/216
