How do you solve for L: A = L W H

By convention, A stands for area, a flat, two-dimensional
measurement. You are showing three measurements
multiplied together, which would give a volume, represented
by V, not A.

V = LWH
V = L(WH)
V / (WH) = L(WH) / (WH)
V / (WH) = L
