2x+4y=6     7x=4+3y

Solve the first given equation for x.
1. 2x + 4y = 6
2. 2x = -4y + 6
3. x = -2y + 3

Substitute x into the second given equation.
4. 7 * (-2y + 3) = 4 + 3y
5. -14y + 21 = 4 + 3y
6. -14y - 3y = 4 - 21
7. -17y = -17
8. y = 1    <<<<

Substitute y into equation 3.
9. x = -2 * 1 + 3
10. x = -2 + 3
11. x = 1   <<<<
