3(4x - 1) - 2 = 17x + 10

12x - 3 - 2 = 17x + 10

12x - 5 = 17x + 10

-15 = 5x

x = -15/5 = -3

3(4x-1)-2=17x+10

12x-3-2=17x+10

12x-5=17x+10

      +5         +5

12x=17x+15

-17x   -17

-5x=15 divide by -5

x=-3
