Three men invest £2000, £3000 and £4000 in a buisness. If they share the profits in the same ratio as their investments, how much does each recieve when the total profit is £2700?
A total of 9000 pounds was invested. The respective ratios are:
£2000/£9000 = 2/9
£3000/£9000 = 3/9
£4000/£9000 = 4/9
Divide the £2700 by 9: £2700 / 9 = £300
Multiply that by the proportion in the investment:
£300 * 2 = £600
£300 * 3 = £900
£300 * 4 = £1200
£600 + £900 + £1200 = £2700
