y = 5x - 3
y = 2x + 6

Putting the two together, we have:

5x - 3 = 2x + 6
5x - 2x = 6 + 3
3x = 9
x = 3

find the intersection point of y=2x+4 and y=1/2x-2

by

when you put it together,

5x-3 =2x+6

Add 3 and subtract 2x

you get,

3x=9

Dividing it, you get,

x=3
