9x-2y=30 is shown in red, and 5x+y=24 in blue.

The intersection is shown in decimal approximations. To find out the actual intersection point, multiply the second equation by 2 then add the two equations:

9x-2y=30

10x+2y=48

19x=78, x=78/19; y=24-5x=24-390/19=(456-390)/19=66/19.
