(a-b)^2=a^2-2ab+b^2          (x+a)(x+b)=x^2+x(a+b)+ab

(x-3)^2=1

x^2-6x+9=1

x^2-6x+9-1=0

x^2-6x+8=0

(x-2)(x-4)=0

x-2=0 ⇒  x=2            x-4=0 ⇒  x=4
