First you can divide 216 by 3

 

This will give you,

216 ÷ 3 = 72

 

Therefore,    72 + 72 + 72 = 216

 

But we want 3 different consecutive numbers,

 

So you can change,    72 + 72 + 72 = 216

To,    71 + 72 + 73 = 216

 

But we want even, consecutive numbers,

So,   70 + 72 + 74 = 216

 

Therefore the 3 consecutive numbers you are looking for are 70, 72, 74         smiley

sum

 x+x+1+x+2= 216

 3x+3=216

3x=213

x=213/3

x=71

so 3 consecutive nos are 71,72,73
