y=2x has many solutions, in fact, an infinite number of solutions. The solutions can be represented by a straight line graph which passes through the origin (0,0). The point (1,2) lies on the line because it satisfies the equation. Plot this point and draw the line which passes through it and through the origin. Every point on the line (which has infinite length) is a solution to the given equation.
