Assuming you mean: (4x^2+16x-48)^1/3

It's not an equation because it's not equal to anything.

If you mean factor it, then:

Factor out a 4:

(4^(1/3)) * (x^2 + 4x - 12)^(1/3)

(4^(1/3)) * ( (x+6) (x-2) )^(1/3)

(4^(1/3)) * (x+y)^(1/3) * (x-2)^(1/3)

Use FOIL to check that (x+6)(x-2) = x^2 + 4x - 12

(x+6)(x-2)

x^2 - 2x + 6x - 12

x^2 + 4x - 12

Answer:  (4^(1/3)) * (x+y)^(1/3) * (x-2)^(1/3)
