determine whether (5,15) if a solution of y= 6x+1
determine whether (5,15) is a solution of y= 6x+1

Simple substitution proves that the point is NOT on the line.

y = 6x + 1
y = 6(5) + 1
y = 30 + 1
y = 31

When x = 5, y is NOT 15.
