dy/dx if y = 1/sqroot of q+1

1/x=x^(-1)

dy/dx = y'

1/sqroot of q+1= (q+1)^(-1/2)

y'= - 1/2(q+1)^(-1/2-1)

-1/2-1= - 3/2

y'= - 1/2(q+1)^(-3/2)

y' = - 1/(q+1)^(3/2)

y'= - 1/{sqrt(q+1)^3)}

y' = - 1/{(q+1)sqrt(q+1)}
