2x+2y-44=180 (angles in a triangle), x+y-22=90, x+y=112, y=112-x (equation 1).

Interior angles of pentagon sum to 540°, 2y-44+2x+2y+y+27+4x-39=540.

2y-44+224+y+27+4x-39=540, (224=2x+2y),

3y+4x+168=540,

3y+4x=372,

3(112-x)+4x=372, substituting for y from equation 1

336-3x+4x=372,

x=36° (and y=112-x=76°).
