I need to adjust death tolls like the way movies are adjusted for inflation. For example, a tragic event in 1804 (world population: 1 billion) cost 300 lives. What would that number be adjusted to world population? There are over 7 billion people in the world today, so that 300 would have to be way higher today.

The simplest answer would be 7×300=2,100 based on a 7-fold increase in world population.
