Perfect square trinomial can be factored using the following formula

a^2 + 2ab + b^2 = (a+b)^2

or

a^2 - 2ab + b^2 = (a-b)^2

Example:

x^2 +8x+ 16

or x^2 + 2(1x)(4) + 4^2

or (x+4)^2

or (x+4)(x+4)
