Step 1) Take HCF(Highest common factor) of all the terms in the expression.

Step 2) Divide each term with the HCF

Step 3) Multiply the remainder with HCF

Example:

2x + 4y + 8z

Step1) HCF of 2,4 and 8 is 2

Step2) 2x/2 + 4y/2 + 8z/2

or x + 2y + 4z

Step 3) 2* (x+2y+4z)
